NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
September 30, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0871
On September 29, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: He had a car accident and Officer
responded but did not take his statement. He had to go after the officer to take his
statement. The officer listened but did not write down his statement in the report. He has
been trying to get in touch with the officer to correct the report, but the officer is out on
health leave, which he totally understands. There should be a system in place to do
something on the officer's behalf while he is out. The insurance companies determine the
fault of an accident based on the crash report. The other driver stated he was trying to
make a right-hand turn, which he was not, and he has evidence. His car was totaled, and
the other car only had a dent in the bumper but the officer reported the damages as identical
which is impossible.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
