NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
September 9, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0771
On September 8, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: She is a victim of human trafficking and APD is not taking her
seriously. She was able to escape on
.
A detective was supposed to meet her
at a hotel but did not show up. APD kept hanging up on her and would not take her report.
After
of having to protect herself and trying to get APD's help, she finally got
a call from someone to take her report. The person who took her report apologized for
APD not taking her seriously. She told APD where other victims are located, and she
is
yet
to see APD do anything about it. She is upset because APD does not take human trafficking
seriously. It is really upsetting that she was begging for help and the traffickers are still
out there and it puts her in extreme danger. APD has failed her as a victim.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
