NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
August 26, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0708
On August 23, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: She has filed multiple reports with APD for assaults. APD has
not investigated any of the crimes against her. One of the incidents resulted in her receiving
11 stitches in her head and she is having memory issues. She called
and spoke to
a supervisor or sergeant for the detective who handled her case. She argued with the
sergeant about what needed to happen and also told him she is elderly and handicapped
and people who are significantly younger than her are assaulting her. The sergeant told her
she was not a high priority. She called again and tried to reach someone above the sergeant
and the person she spoke to told her whatever the sergeant and detective said is what it is,
and she does not need to talk to anyone else.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
