NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
August 12, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0665
On August 8, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: Her daughter,
,
was taken to juvenile
detention. The complainant witnessed APD's response to resistance when they arrested
and stated she didn't see anything out of the ordinary. A sergeant came and spoke
with the family about it. The complaint is that
was taken to the hospital to be
treated for a head injury and no one told the complainant or asked her for permission. She
found out when she went to pick her up from jail and they asked her to sign something
saying she went to the hospital. The complainant would like to speak to a supervisor to
understand if this is standard procedure.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
