NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
August 5, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0644
On August 3, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: Officer
Badge number
interviewed my
cleaning lady for an accident in which she was involved, at the intersection of
and
. My cleaning girl,
, asked me to be present
for the interview, because of her limited English. Officer
began the interview
in English, with myself translating. Even after it was obvious my cleaning gal was not a
native English speaker, he repeated asking in English if she had a Texas license and other
questions. Her answer was always the same, as well as the translation. After realizing his
bad faith attempt to see she would say something incriminating, he gave away he spoke
perfect Spanish. This is not the way to build a relationship with the Hispanic community.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
