NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
August 5, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0641
On August 3, 2022, the OPO received an online complaint.
The complainant alleges: Good afternoon, I submitted a complaint with the City of Austin
online on
and was informed today
it was not the correct
website to file an online complaint . I now submitting my complaint to the correct website.
Unsolved Crime - Detective
of the Austin Police Department investigated the
death of my former husband I am the first wife , case #
the deceased
resided in
Texas and was found dead at his former second
wife"s apartment the once shared. Detective
did a poor job and only questioned two
witnesses where the deceased was found no further investigation was conducted this matter
did not make it to court, Detective
did not contact the deceased family or order a
polygraph for the only two witnesses he questioned The deceased children contacted
Detective
requesting copies of his report and pictures which he denied family access
to for 9 years and after he was promoted as head of the
Department. The family
was finally able to obtained copies in
. I took over and contacted Detective
now Lieutenant returned my call on
. I provided Lieutenant
with over whelming information , that should have been his job at the time he was
conducting the investigation. I mentioned his report included discrepancies and that he
didn"t bother to further question the witnesses statements, which were not consistent and
did not make sense and that if the incident occured at
but was not reported until later
that evening approximately at
he should have further investigated , and I further
questioned why he did not order finger prints and why he didn"t confirm with the second
wife"s employer if she had left her job to come check on her husband as she claimed even
though he was not married to anyone at the time of death Why didn"t he question the
witnesses why no one called 911 immediately at the time of the incident and why they
waited until the end of the evening. Lieutenant
tried to convince me it was an
accidental overdose The picture indicate his death was "staged" according to the witnesses
statements Lieutenant
requested documents and names of family and address
phone numbers and provided me with his email address. The deceased children/ family did
not give consent to release their personal information to Lieutenant
as it was he who
refused to provide the family with the final report and pictures for 9 years. Lieutenant
