NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
August 5, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0633
On August 1, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: It is impossible to get APD to come for any crimes other than
murder. A person ate at his restaurant and tried to leave without paying. He called APD
because the man was threatening his employees. Forty-five minutes later the police called
asking if the person was still there, but the person had left. He believes that when
was murdered it was a trigger for people to start telling our city council to defund
APD. It was defunded and the police department was demoralized and now the police
department is making us pay for that. The police say they cannot come out because they
are short-staffed. The police department needs to be apologized to by the mayor and city
council. What is going on with APD right now makes no sense
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
