OF CHAN COURT OFFICE OF POLICE OVERSIGHT FOUNDED NOTICE OF COMPLAINT July 29, 2022 ICMS #: 2022-0624 On July 27, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint. The complainant alleges: The complainant was making a right turn and had to slam on her brakes when the officer in SUV made an illegal left turn. The SUV had no lights or siren on. The complainant then saw the officer almost hit someone on a bike when they used their right turn signal to enter a street and then come back out to the main road to turn at the next street. There was EMS present SO there may have been an emergency but as there were no lights or siren on the SUV, the complainant didn"t know they needed to yield to the SUV. This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
