NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
July 29, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0615
On July 25, 2022, the OPO received an email complaint.
The complainant alleges: I was at the intersection of
and
. This
is a really busy intersection because traffic going north and south bound do not have
to
stop. I continued to wait as there was heavy traffic around
) and crossing
would be difficult and a likely accident could happen at any time. Meanwhile as I continued
to wait for a safe opening for me to cross an officer in patrol car
continued to just
blow his/her horn to make me go across. I looked in my rear view mirror to make sure he
did not have his light or siren on and he did not. Us citizens get in lots of trouble about road
rage and here I am getting this from an officer of the law who is paid to protect us and
make sure we are safe but he/she was forcing me to take a chance and cross a busy
intersection. When I finally crossed he drove right behind me but than he had to stop at the
light on
.
I pumped gas and he was still sitting at the light SO there were
no emergency. This was pure road rage. You officers expect us to obey the laws and respect
you officers when you have an officer like this that truly thinks they can just push us
around. Please contact me this was very upsetting and I want to know how his/her superior
will discipline this officer. Please contact me as soon as possible.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
