On July 18, 2022, the OPO received an online complaint.
The complainant alleges: On
was involved in auto
incident where she was hit by a
18 wheeler vehicle. Police officer,
,
wrote the report, and informed
Adverse information
would be given in the Police Report.

did not
include the Adverse drivers information in the police report hindering
pursuit in a claim against the company and driver for her injuries. The open records we
received redacted the drivers information and insurance information. This information
would have been available if Officer
wrote the report correctly. As of
,
no amended report was made. The Adverse drivers information must be available
since the records and videos were redacted. We would have this information in the police
report if the report was amended. We demand someone contact is with this information
with an updated police report.
The witness captured the incident on his vehicle dash cam and provided it. The 18 wheelers
license plate number was not legible due to the lights on the highway. The video from the
witness shows the incident and the open records confirms this is the same incident, truck,
and driver of the 18 wheeler who caused the incident. We can see Officer
and other
officers speaking with the driver of the 18 wheeler and obtaining his name and contact
information in the open records videos.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
