NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
July 15, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0585
On July 13, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: She was at her cousin's apartment who is on the run. The police
came and she decided to leave because her cousin was not home, and she knew there would
be weapons and there was a 7-year-old and a 3-year-old with her. Her aunt was outside,
and the police began to yell for her aunt to drop her phone. When she dropped her phone,
the officer told her if she goes toward the door, they were going to shoot her. At that point,
her uncle came out and the officers threw him to the ground and handcuffed him. When
she came out, they told her to walk backward toward them and they handcuffed her. She
told them they had no right to handcuff her and asked who they were looking for and the
officer told her
. She questioned if they had a search warrant. The officers
were very disrespectful and kept telling them to shut up and would not give them any
information. She has a video of one of the officers telling her to shut up and if she wanted
to make a complaint she could because at the end of the day, he would still have his job.
The complainant told one of the officers she was pregnant, and he still threw her against
the wall to handcuff her. One of the lady officers told her he had no right to handcuff her.
When she brought it to the other officer's attention, he told her he did not care. They made
her boyfriend crawl from the front door all the way to the other side of the building with a
gun to his head and they traumatized the kids and put guns to their heads. They never
explained why or showed a warrant. One of the officers told her he was not telling her shit.
They had no right to come to the home and traumatized the kids and throw people around
just because they have the power to do want to do.
