OF CITY SUBTOT OFFICE OF POLICE OVERSIGHT FOUNDED NOTICE OF COMPLAINT June 24, 2022 ICMS #: 2022-0525 On June 21, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint. The complainant alleges: She almost got into an accident along with others driving on because police car speeded past them with sirens on and emergency lights flashing. Once the police vehicle passed traffic, they turned off sirens and emergency lights and just drove normally. It was an abuse of power just to get thru the traffic and red light and it almost caused an accident. The officers also did not have their headlights on which they should have for that time of day while driving a dark vehicle. The complainant did not want to leave her information for fear of retaliation. This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
