NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
June 24, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0518
On June 16, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: She and her son entered the
building with a water bottle in hand but not drinking from it. The officer working as
security at the facility spoke aggressively telling them they could not bring the water bottle
inside, SO they took it back to the car. She overheard the officer speaking aggressively
toward another person about filling out an application. She got an application and went to
sit down. There was not a chair near her for her son to sit on, SO her son pulled a chair next
to her. The officer yelled at him and told him that he could not move the chair, SO they went
to the car to fill out the application. She watched the officer be ugly and disrespectful to
others. She asked an administration person for the officer's name but was told he did not
work for them. As she and her son were leaving the officer told them to have a nice day
after he was SO very rude to them. She does not understand why the officer's behavior was
acceptable.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
