NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
June 16, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0509
On June 14, 2022, the OPO received an online complaint.
The complainant alleges: APD CASE # Case #
. My girlfriend
and I were followed to my house by some people who called the police because they saw
me and my girlfriend arguing in the
parking lot. Officer
came up to her
car and asked if she was o.k. She said yes and got out of the car and opened my door (I was
sitting behind her in the backseat). I started to get out of the car and Officer
threw
me down on the pavement and handcuffed me. I held his knee on me for a couple of
minutes. He called for backup and 3-4 other police officers rushed to the cul-de-sac with
lights and sirens. They jumped out of the car. My grandparents came out of their home and
asked what happened. Officer
would not say - he said he was waiting for his
supervisor. I was not put in a police car. I was standing on the curb near my granddad,
I took a step towards him and 2 officers threw me to the ground a 2nd time. They
tightened the handcuffs. They grabbed my granddad. I was then put in the back of Officer
"s car. I sat in the car for about 30 minutes until the supervisor showed up,
He talked to my girlfriend, she was not pressing charges, she told him she was o.k.
He talked to my grandparents, then he came over and let me out of the car and uncuffed
me and told me I was free to go.
