NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
May 13, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0377
On May 12, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: There have been break-ins every other month at the non-profit
in
where he is employed. He is very disappointed in terms of APD getting
back to him. About
ago he had video footage of a burglary totaling $15,000
worth of equipment. It took 6 months for APD to get back to him to file a complaint.
Recently there was a burglary and he called to file a police report. He just heard back from
APD
. The person started taking the report and after 2 questions the phone call
dropped on her end, and she never called back. He cannot make insurance claims because
he can't get police reports in a timely manner. He has tried the online system but there is a
character limit, SO it is not possible to answer half of the questions before exceeding the
limit. The online system for reporting crime is totally unacceptable. In
, there
was a break-in and when he finally spoke to someone at APD, he was told he needed to
vote for new council members if he wanted anything to change. He feels that comment by
a sworn officer is totally unacceptable.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
