NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
April 8, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0245
On April 4, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The
complainant alleges: The complainant let a friend that was living with him use his truck
because his vehicle was broken down. About
ago he noticed scratches on the vehicle.
The police were called and when they arrived, he told the officers he wanted his keys back from
the friend. He also told the officers he wanted them to wait while he walked around his vehicle to
inspect it for other damages. He got his car keys from the friend, but not his house keys. The
officers told him he would just have to change the locks and they let his friend go. The officers
started to walk away. When he asked them to stay as witnesses while he checked his vehicle for
other damages they told him that does not have anything to do with APD because it was a civil
matter. He is angry about the way he was treated.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to determine
if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service Rules, and Municipal
Civil Service Rules.
