NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
March 25, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0215
On March 25, 2022, the OPO received an online complaint.
The complainant alleges: I am currently an active Austin Police Officer. It is my belief that
around
or sometime after, a former retired Austin Police Officer name
was provided with my personal home address by a current active Austin Police
Officer who used department resources for the benefit/ gain to
Retired Police officer
is still friends with several current Police officers. I do know that Officer
is
still good friends with
and it could have been him or anyone else that provided
with
this info by running the license plate of my personal vehicle or my name. I had a business dealing
with
outside of work that turned into a civil matter. The civil matter started in
of
between myself and
business partners. On
, my former Corporal
, who was also
supervisor while
was employed with APD sent me a
text message informing me that
sent a text message to him asking for my personal address.
did not make an attempt to contact me directly for my address. I then informed Corporal
that this was a civil matter and requested that he not give
my information. At no time
have I ever provided
or
his business partners with my personal home address. I have a
business address in the name of my business that I could have easily provided to them.
Approximately
ago I received a certified letter in the mail at my home address from
business. It is my belief that someone in the department provided
with my home
address.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to determine
if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service Rules, and Municipal
