NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
March 11, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0178
On March 10, 2022 the OPO received an online complaint.
The complainant alleges: On
I was serving as a commissioned security officer at
where the shoplifting
was taking place and 911 was called at approximately
hours. Officer
responded to the call and issued a ticket to the shoplifter and criminal trespass warning, then he
gave me copies for both ticket and CTN, CTN
. Later on when I was about to write
my report to the store headquarters I realize that as follow: 1- The ticket showing that the shoplifter
was arrested and no court date, when matter of fact the shoplifter was free to leave at that time.
(It's not an issue to me but brought my attention that the officer needs to focus on what he's doing).
2- Officer
was issued a criminal trespass warning to me not to the shoplifter. Officer
didn't take his job seriously which caused to put criminal trespass warning in my record
which is extremely unacceptable and need to be removed from my report immediately and I would
like to receive approval that shows that the CTN was removed from my record. The warning in
my report will affect some applications I'm going through and I wish to be removed before they
run my background check for those applications.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to determine
if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service Rules, and Municipal
Civil Service Rules.
