NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
February 18, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0113
On February 17, 2022 the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: Police blocked off entrances to
because a box truck was on fire.
The complainant was stuck in traffic for almost 2.5 hours. There were police officers in their cars
blocking the entrances but no one was directing traffic. The complaint is that officers were sitting
in their cars on their phones when they could have helped people get from point A to point B. The
complainant asked one of the officers why they were not directing traffic and the officer's answer
was, "There's a light there." The complainant states that the light is there for normal timing, not
when traffic is backed up.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to determine
if
the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service Rules, and Municipal
Civil Service Rules.
