NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
February 18, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0103
On February 14, 2022 the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: The complainant has questions about a police report that was filed for
an auto-pedestrian accident he was involved in on
. There were a number of inaccuracies
in the police report. He has attempted to follow through.
The complainant is blind and was hit. The report says he wasn't using a cane when he was. For
some reason, when the officer went over the video surveillance, they said he had folded up his
cane and put it in his bag before crossing -- which was untrue. They said the body camera footage
said that he said he did not have a cane. He states he was attempting to communicate that it had
gotten knocked out of his hand. The complainant is trying to get more eyes on this because he is
very confused on how the report could have been written down the way it was.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to determine
if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service Rules, and Municipal
Civil Service Rules.
