NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
February 1, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0077
On January 27, 2022 the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: She was attacked in her house and defended herself. Detective
has issued a warrant for her arrest. He never followed up on her abuser's report or asked
anything about the incident. She has documented being chased with a sword, being pushed into
walls, and choked and no police protection ever came. How is it that her abuser was given the time
of day but she wasn't?
Supervisors have come to the scene of previous incidents and told her she doesn't know what
domestic violence is and told her personal stories about their own parents. The domestic violence
unit is not being run properly.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to determine
if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service Rules, and Municipal
Civil Service Rules.
