NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
January 12, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0002
On December 29, 2021 the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: The worker at the place where she was drying her clothes asked her to
leave because of her service animal and the worker also called police. When the police arrived,
officer
,
maybe badge
threatened to take her to jail for criminal trespassing if she
did not leave. Officer
maybe badge
was extremely nice and said the situation was
not handled correctly regarding the service animal. There is video footage that shows the incident,
and that video needs to be recovered. The supervisor,
maybe badge
was not. She
felt she was discriminated against and the officers co-conspired with the worker. The worker
should have been given a ticket for refusing her service because of the service animal.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to determine
if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service Rules, and Municipal
Civil Service Rules.
