CITY OF ALUSTIN OFFICE OF NOTICE OF FORMAL POLICE OVERSIGHT COMPLAINT FOUNDED ICMS #: 2020-1005 June 16, 2020 Complaint: The Office of Police Oversight received an anonymous online complaint stating as follows: "I am filing this report on behalf of and . These two innocent young men were injured severely by APD. I am appalled that more has not been done by Austin officials to investigate these crimes. APD cannot be trusted to conduct their own internal investigation, and claiming that these incidents will not happen again in the future is not enough. Presumably, the officers were not instructed to use less-lethal rounds to severely injure peaceful protesters who were not blocking roadways. The responsible officers should be fired and charged. If the officers were instructed to use less-lethal rounds in this situation, then the responsible authority (Chief Manley?) should be demoted and investigated." The City of Austin is committed to compliance with the American Disabilities Act. Reasonable modifications and equal access to communications will be provided upon request.
