OF CITY AUSTIN OFFICE OF NOTICE OF FORMAL POLICE OVERSIGHT COMPLAINT FOUNDED ICMS #: 2020-1126 June 30, 2020 Complaint: Anonymous complaint alleges "during the protests a group of about 6- 8 austin officers started advancing toward peaceful protesters for seemingly no reason in front of the austin police department parking garage, sprayed pepper spray and started forcefully moving the crowd. a nonviolent individual with a gas mask who was there to help pull the injured out of the crowd was sprayed by the spray due to it being used against the entire crowd, causing severe pain, redness and burning on their back, thighs, shoulders arms, and chest. at least four others were maced as well in eyes and on the skin".
