Park Closure Updates (as of 4:00 p.m., 10/21/18)
- The Butler Hike and Bike Trail is open.
- Emma Long Metropolitan Park will reopen on Monday 10/22.
- Barton Creek & Barton Creek Greenbelt will reopen on Monday 10/22.
- Red Bud Isle Park & Trail are closed until further notice.
- Walsh Boat Landing is closed until further notice.
- Barton Springs Pool remains closed.
Reported Park Closures (as of 12:00 p.m., 10/17/18)
- The Butler Hike and Bike Trail will remain closed. Staff will be evaluating conditions throughout the weekend.
- Emma Long Metropolitan Park is closed until further notice. All weekend camping reservations are cancelled and staff has notified registrants.
- Red Bud Isle Park & Trail are closed until further notice.
- Staff continues to monitor Commons Ford Ranch Metropolitan Park. The park remains open, but access to the boat dock and waterway are closed.
- Walsh Boat Landing is closed until further notice.
- The Barton Creek Greenbelt and creek remain closed.
- Barton Springs Pool remains closed.
Take Action and Stay Informed
Flooded low water crossings pose a safety risk. Residents are reminded to respect barricades and to find alternate routes. "Save yourself! Turn around — don’t drown." Current flood information and emergency road closures are updated at www.ATXFloods.com.
Residents are also encouraged to monitor weather conditions via local news media. Additionally, the City of Austin and Travis County want everyone to follow these steps:
