Austin Youth Development (AYD)
The Austin Youth Development program was started in 1996 in response to the growing issues in Austin, TX’s youth community.
AYD Mission and Vision
AYD’s mission is to provide guidance and work experience to assist youth in achieving educational and career goals.
AYD’s vision is for all youth in the City of Austin to have the skills necessary to obtain a sustainable career.
AYD Goals
- Provide mentoring and help foster employability skills among youth 17-22 years old.
- Provide opportunities for youth to earn a livable wage
- Help youth develop a career path through educational achievement, goal setting, financial planning, and health equity.
Are you interested, & meet these requirements?
- 17-22 years old.
- Live in the Austin, Travis County area.
- Have reliable transportation
- Able to obtain driver’s license within 90 days.
- Have or be working towards a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
