Exemplifying APD Values
I called 311 on the advice of Code Enforcement because a homeless man had built a shelter near our townhome community. Officer Ward was the responding officer. I want to commend him for making a potentially contentious situation very easy for all involved. Officer Ward found the man living nearby, spoke to him, and assessed the situation. He introduced the man, Daniel, to me and we determined that he was not located on our property. What impressed me the most was that, all times, officer Ward was pleasant, friendly, and professional to both Daniel and me. I reviewed the Austin Police Department vision statement, mission statement, and values listed on the website. Officer Ward exemplified all of these values. I just wanted to let someone know. I am grateful for his service to our community.
