What do I need to know before applying for my Valet Operators License?
- Familiarize yourself with both the City of Austin ordinance AND rules that govern valet operations
- You must provide the following documents:
- A fully completed and notarized application
- Insurance
- Copy of training materials/instruction provided to employees of the Operator
- Materials must incorporate the City of Austin valet ordinance and valet rules
- Photos, front and back, of the Operator’s retroreflective outerwear
- Photos of any booths, stands, or signage that will be placed in the right of way
- If operating at a permanent valet zone, also include a rendering of where the aforementioned items would be placed
- An outline of the procedure used for vehicle key custody
- An outline of the procedure used for valet tags and identification
- A copy of the valet tag, front and back
- A Resolution of Authority
- An Authorized Agent Form
- If the above requirements have been met, ROW will schedule a meeting between you (the Operator), Parking Enterprise, and Right of Way Management. Points that will be reviewed include:
- Duties of Licensed Valet Operator
- Valet permitting procedures
- Enforcement and violation procedures
- Vehicle handling restrictions
- Pay the annual fees
