AUSTIN, TEXAS – Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) passenger traffic growth for August 2023 was down 0.57% compared to August 2022 with 1,776,883 passengers flying during the month.

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for August 2023 was 1,776,883, down 0.57% compared to August 2022. August 2023 enplanements totaled 869,746, down 0.24%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 656,083, down 6.2%; American Airlines passengers totaled 398,848, down 9.2%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 254,071, up 20.4%; United Airlines passengers totaled 205,213, up 15.3%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 80,888, down 5.7%; Spirit Airlines passengers totaled 61,358, up 34.5%; Allegiant Air passengers totaled 29,423, down 30.2%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 20,758, down 6.9%; British Airways passengers totaled 16,032, up 35.4%; Air Canada passengers totaled 9,253, down 16.2%; Hawaiian Airlines passengers totaled 7,923, up 21%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 7,581, down 18.6%; KLM Royal Dutch Airlines passengers totaled 5,875, down 3.3%; Lufthansa passengers totaled 5,802, down 2.6%; Aeromexico passengers totaled 5,299, up 4.9%; Virgin Atlantic passengers totaled 4,809, up 2.5%; Copa Airlines passengers totaled 4,261; WestJet passengers totaled 2,196; Sun Country Airlines passengers totaled 997, down 64.1%, and Global Crossing Airlines passengers totaled 213.
August 2023 air cargo totaled 23,258,675 lbs., down 14.80% compared to August 2022. International air cargo totaled 1,333,182 lbs., down 5.47%. Federal Express carried 7,110,163 lbs., down 8.3%; Air Transport International carried 4,891,580 lbs., down 49.5%; Atlas Air carried 3,540,222 lbs., up 107.2%; United Parcel Services carried 2,664,300 lbs., down 18.1%; and Sun Country Airlines carried 1,298,050 lbs.
Air Services transferred 93,778 lbs. of mail, down 80.91%; and 2,668,465 lbs. of belly freight, down 5.92%.
Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 3,448, down 11.73%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 23,290 up 1.90%.

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January – August 2023 was 14,566,137, up 5.93% compared to January – August 2022. January – August 2023 enplanements totaled 7,278,905, up 5.72%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 5,535,538, up 5.1%; American Airlines passengers totaled 3,510,151, down 2.8%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 1,765,629, up 10.6%; United Airlines passengers totaled 1,630,510, up 16.9%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 604,849, down 0.8%; Spirit Airlines passengers totaled 568,272, up 60.4%; Allegiant Air passengers totaled 273,209, down 5.4%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 171,447, down 24.7%; British Airways passengers totaled 125,061, up 36.5%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 66,048, down 22.3%; Hawaiian Airlines passengers totaled 59,543, up 31.8%; Air Canada passengers totaled 54,288, up 16%; KLM Royal Dutch Airlines passengers totaled 45,431, up 50.8%; Lufthansa passengers totaled 44,927, up 72.2%; Aeromexico passengers totaled 40,220, up 0.3%; Virgin Atlantic passengers totaled 39,821, up 122.2%; Sun Country Airlines passengers totaled 12,784, down 21.1%; Copa Airlines passengers totaled 8,459; WestJet passengers totaled 7,672; National Airlines passengers totaled 332; All Nippon passengers totaled 198; Nolinor Aviation passengers totaled 160; and Maleth-Aero passengers totaled 112.
January – August 2023 air cargo totaled 186,839,116 lbs., down 9.90% compared to January – August 2022. International air cargo totaled 13,579,371 lbs., up 42.50%. Federal Express carried 54,139.948 lbs., down 4.5%; Air Transport International carried 52,311,447 lbs., down 10.1%; United Parcel Services carried 21,750,862 lbs., down 15.4%; and Atlas Air carried 19,064,749 lbs., down 23.4%.
Air Services transferred 2,382,972 lbs. of mail, down 49.04%; and 22,772,935 lbs. of belly freight, up 5.13%.
Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 30,995 for January – August 2023, down 8.50%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 181,928, up 2.25%.
