Explore the rainbow of colors extracted from the plants around us as well as from the food waste we produce.

Join us as Dez Dalton, Studio and Production Director of the Refugee Collective, shares her knowledge of foraged dyestuffs and the use of sustainable scrap produce to create beautifully dyed fabrics. Participants will receive a naturally dyed bandana created during this event. This event is free with a ticket and open to all ages! Please bring a water bottle and sunscreen.

Naturalists at the Ney Series

Learn more about the Ney's unique historic landscape and entrench yourself in the environment with Naturalists at the Ney, a new series of monthly events on the museum's grounds. In this thematic series of workshops, museum educators and community partnering organizations will lead guided explorations and art making activities on the first Saturday of April, May and June. We will learn about the colorful uses of plants, the hidden relationships under our feet, and the treasures used to create botanical art on the grounds around Elisabet Ney's Formosa studio. Be prepared to be outdoors in Ney’s wild landscape!
