In 2016 the Development Services Department will launch ePlan Review, a highly anticipated web-based process where development plans can be submitted, paid for, reviewed and approved electronically!
What is ePlan Review?
It is an electronic plan and document management system that provides a central "hub" for development project groups (including external applicants and internal City reviewers) to communicate and complete the entire plan review process online, from the initial application stage to final approved plan sets.
Why ePlan Review?
Simpy put, ePlan Review will save customers substantial time, money and resources:
Reduces travel time to One Texas Center
Allows plan uploads from anywhere, anytime
Improves turnaround times and accuracy with collaborative reviewing
Reduces paper, printing, fuel, storage, and disposal costs
Conserves resources by saving trees, reducing water usage and waste, and lowering emissions
ePlan Review is being implemented in phases, building on the discipline and application types accepted. Full implementation is anticipated for late 2016 with deployment targets currently scheduled for:
General Permit Telecom – May 2015
Commercial and Residential Buildings – Summer 2016
Development Assistance Center – Summer 2016
Site Plan – Fall 2016
Subdivision and Zoning – Winter 2017
Training is being provided to City employees identified as primary users as well as the development community and includes seminars, webinars, an applicant video and handbook, quick reference sheets, and an online helpdesk/chat function.
