The Development Services Department will soon launch ePlan Review, a highly anticipated web-based process where development plans can be submitted, paid for, reviewed and approved electronically!
What is ePlan Review?
It is an electronic plan and document management system that provides a central "hub" for development project groups (including external applicants and internal City reviewers) to communicate and complete the entire plan review process online, from the initial application stage to final approved plan sets.
Why ePlan Review?
Simpy put, ePlan Review will save customers substantial time, money and resources:
Reduces travel time to One Texas Center
Allows plan uploads from anywhere, anytime
Improves turnaround times and accuracy with collaborative reviewing
Reduces paper, printing, fuel, storage, and disposal costs
Conserves resources by saving trees, reducing water usage and waste, and lowering emissions
All application types are now in pilot phase, including all Commercial, Residential, Site Plan, Subdivision, General Permit, Traffic Impact Analysis, Development Assessment, Site Corrections, Site Exemptions, and Board of Adjustment. Once these exit the pilot phase in Summer of 2017, applicants will be able to apply via an e-mailed .pdf application.
The next phase includes online application and payment. The first application type to be piloted will be Commercial Quick-Turn Around, which should be complete by the end of May, 2017. By September, 2017, all application types will be available for online application.
Training is being provided to City employees identified as primary users as well as the development community and includes seminars, webinars, an applicant video and handbook, quick reference sheets, and an online helpdesk/chat function. Please check back for training updates.
