Directions:

• Take Barton Springs Rd. into Zilker Park
• Turn north onto Stratford Dr. within Zilker park. (Stratford Dr. is the street between the Zilker Botanical Gardens and the Rock Island field.) 
• Follow Stratford Dr. around until you see the Mopac overpass. 
• The ANSC Parking is under the overpass.
•  Walk across Stratford Dr. to the entrance of the ANSC, on the West side of MoPac.

How much does it cost to visit the Austin Nature & Science Center? 

• There is no fee for individuals or their families to visit.  For organized group wanting an On Your Own Tour, there is a $ .50  per person fee and should be scheduled with Visitor Services. You may call (512)974-3888 to schedule a group On Your Own Tour.

What programs does the Austin Nature & Science Center offer?

• The ANSC offers programs for individuals and well as groups, which include schools, Girl Scouts & Boy Scouts, Homeschools, etc.   Our programs start as young as age 3 and ranges up to adults.  Our brochures provide the information needed to determine the type of program which will suit your needs. You may visit the Programs section of our web site .  For individual and family programs, click on the Natural Selections brochure.  If you’re interested in schools and group programs, click on the Teachers Resource Guide.

What volunteer or internship opportunities does the Austin Nature & Science Center offer?

• We offer opportunities for volunteers in most areas of the ANSC, this includes landscaping, programming, and exhibits, etc.  We do not accept Community Service Restitution Volunteers at this time. How do I rent the Austin Nature & Science Center meeting rooms?

• We do not rent out our classrooms or site.

What are the hours of the Zilker Nature Preserve?

• Dawn to dusk.

May I bring my pet?

• No, the ANSC and Nature preserves have strict rules that specify no pets. This is to protect resident wildlife.

May I get off the trails and explore?

• No, trails are designed to protect the wildlife and other sensitive ecological features.
