Fallen Hutto PD Sgt. Kelley

Chief Acevedo -

I am 1,000 miles away on work in Chicago, and unfortunately had to see today's events in Hutto unfold though social media. One detail I noticed was your motor unit on standby at Seton Williamson to escort Sgt. Kelley's body to the Medical Examiner's office. As an ex-firefighter for Hutto, it means a lot to me and the city I call home to see APD support Hutto's fallen in their time of need.

With all of that said, I would like to personally thank you, your command staff and the officers that helped in the procession during this difficult chapter within the Hutto community.

While talking care of your brother or sister in their time of need, isn't something you have to remind civil servants about, regardless of the color vehicle they drive or patch on their sleeve.  I ask that you commend those who stepped up to the plate for their efforts, as despite what your officers will say, helping transport a fallen family member is never easy.

Again, thank you and your officers for the services provided today, it will not be forgotten.

Thanks,
D. C.
