Revenue Collected in Travis County
This indicator shows the percent of expected revenue collected for the fiscal year to date (FYTD) for patient contacts originating in the Travis County service area. A new goal is set for each fiscal year, leading to potentially abrupt changes in performance each October.
Why Is This Important?
To maintain financial stability, EMS must have efficient processes in place for revenue collection. This process includes the monitoring of revenue collected within Travis County outside the City of Austin. This indicator shows the effectiveness of the billing, collection and financial processes. However, collection rates can also be affected by factors outside the control of ATCEMS, such as the amount of time required by insurance payers to process claims.
