Austin, TX - The City of Austin is proud to announce it has been officially recognized as a Best Place for Working Parents® for 2026, a designation it has received every year since 2019. This designation recognizes the City’s commitment to implementing top research-backed policies that support working parents and enhance business productivity.

With two-thirds of children under age six with both parents in the workforce, supporting working parents is critical for attracting and retaining top talent and increasing employee productivity. The City of Austin earned this distinction by offering, among other benefits

  • Flexible, remote, and hybrid work options.
  • Paid time off and family-friendly leave policies.
  • Child Care Assistance
  • Youth Camp Scholarships

The City of Austin is honored to be recognized for the eighth year in a row for its efforts to support our employees, both in their professional and personal lives,” said Susan Sinz, Austin Human Resources Director. “This designation confirms that our focus on flexibility and family-friendly policies is creating a supportive environment where our working parents can excel.”
