The mission of the Asian American Resource Center (AARC) is to create a space of belonging and healing for Asian American communities in Austin and beyond. We do this through community collaborations and partnerships; providing rental space; organizing cultural, educational and health wellness programs; and curating art and historical exhibitions. We lead with our values and our vision, so that our diverse communities are supported and connected.
Hours
The Asian American Resource Center is open Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

CelebrASIA Austin 2026
Join us for CelebrASIA Austin, our annual event celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, happening at the AARC on Saturday, May 2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.! This family-friendly, all-ages festival will feature a variety of performances, food vendors, exhibits, and cultural experiences. This event is free and open to the public. Learn more and RSVP:
2026 Heritage Month Exhibition Open Call
We are looking for artists to showcase their stories of migration, immigration, and assimilation through textile and fiber arts as part of our Heritage Month Exhibit! Selected artists will have the opportunity to work with this year’s guest community Curator, Mai Deguchi, and install their work in a glass-case-setting to create a scene, highlighting their narrative by creating their own small world within the AARC.
Exhibits will open on Saturday, May 2 alongside CelebrASIA Austin and will close to the public on June 6, 2026.

Heritage Month Exhibit Application
Applications close on Tuesday, March 31 at 11:59pm. Application materials submitted outside of the Submittable Open Call Portal and deadline will not be reviewed.
The Creative Reset
The Creative Reset is a community effort to reimagine how Austin invests in and supports arts, culture, and heritage. This City-wide initiative is led by Austin Arts, Culture, Music, and Entertainment (ACME). Its purpose is to examine how Austin builds a more accessible, inclusive, and sustainable creative ecosystem for the future.
This multi-phase effort will guide the evolution of ACME and set long-term priorities:
- Phase 1: This phase focused on enhancing cultural funding to better serve creatives and arts, cultural, heritage, and music organizations. AACME is currently implementing the recommendations and actively seeking applicants. To learn more about Phase 1, visit ACME Phase I.
- Phase 2: Through community input, the goal is to strengthen programs and services at City of Austin arts and cultural centers and museums. This survey is one way for you to share your perspective and ensure community voices are at the heart of the process. Getting to the AARC
By car from US 183 N, exit Cameron Road. Turn right onto Cameron, go past Rutherford Lane, and the AARC will be on your right. From US 183 S, turn left on Cameron Road. Go past Rutherford Lane, and the AARC will be on your right.
By bus, there are nearby stops for bus lines 10 and 325. If you need to cross Cameron Road, please note that the nearest crosswalks are at the light at Cross Park Drive and at Rutherford Lane.
Parking is available onsite during regular hours. If the AARC lot is full, overflow parking is also available at the Austin Police Department Recruiting building that is next to the center and a short walk away. You can turn into the lot on Cameron Road.
- Programs and Events
The AARC hosts a variety of cultural arts, health and heritage programs and events throughout the year. From our annual CelebrASIA festival in May to the Hyphenated Book Club series, Tones Fest music series, creative arts workshops, and more, there’s always something happening at the AARC!
- Senior Program
AARC Senior Program is designed to address the intergenerational wellness and education needs of Austin residents, age 50 and up, with a focus on Asian American culture and community. AARC Senior Program is part of Austin Parks & Recreation Department Varsity Generation and Congregate Meal Program.
- Youth and Teen Programs
Through fun and interactive activities using Asian American literature, visual and performance arts, and multimedia, kids and teens have the unique opportunity to participate in an array of cultural workshops, gain leadership skills, and connect with others in the community.
- Exhibits
The AARC’s Community Art Exhibit Program displays artworks year-round that celebrate the diverse and dynamic cultural heritage, lived experience, creativity and identity-making by Asian American Pacific Islanders artists.
- Rentals
The AARC provides a variety of indoor and outdoor rentals spaces for community events, non-profit events, business events, meetings, lectures, classes, banquets, and more.
- Get Involved
We offer a variety of ways for people to get involved at the AARC. From volunteer opportunities, contract instruction, collaborations and more, join the AARC to build community and to find your place!
Facility Updates
Austin Parks and Recreation, Austin Arts, Culture, Music, and Entertainment and Austin Capital Delivery Services are continuing work on the AARC with three projects: the addition of movable wall partitions to the ballroom, a new pavilion, and elements of the Watershed Protection Department’s AARC/Rutherford Stormwater Improvements affecting Little Walnut Creek.
