UPDATE: APD Releases Suspect Vehicle Photos in Connection to Traffic Fatality in the Intersection of East 11th Street and San Jacinto Boulevard

UPDATE:

Austin Police (APD) detectives have obtained photos of the suspect vehicle and are asking for the community’s assistance in identifying the driver.

Location:  Intersection of East 11th Street and San Jacinto Boulevard

Deceased:  Khaled Saadeddine, White male, 02/25/1992
 
On Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:34 p.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian on a scooter in the intersection of East 11th Street and San Jacinto Boulevard. The vehicle involved in the crash did not remain on the scene. The rider of the scooter, later identified as Khaled Saadeddine, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on October 19, 2025.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 78th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 82 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2024, 71 fatal crashes resulted in 76 deaths. These statements are from the initial assessment of the fatal crash, and the investigation is still pending. Fatality information may change.
