On Sunday, December 21, 2025, at approximately 11:58 p.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a single vehicle crash in the 4900 block of East William Cannon, eastbound lane. The driver, who was later identified as Michael Anthony Tasso, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 90th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 94 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2024, 91 fatal crashes resulted in 97 deaths.
