The Austin Parks and Recreation Department (PARD), with the help of the community, has developed another draft of the Cemetery Rules. The rules were reviewed internally, and by the City of Austin Law Department.
The proposed cemetery rules have been resubmitted to the City Clerk’s office, and the 31-day posted public review begins Friday, May 25, 2018 and runs through Sunday, June 24, 2018.
Comments on the proposed rules (R161-18.08) are requested from the public. Comments may be submitted in writing or via email to:

To be considered, comments must be submitted before June 25, 2018, the 32nd day after the date this notice is posted. A summary of the written comments received will be included in the notice of rule adoption that must be posted for the rule to become effective.
After this 31 day public review, the Director of the Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) will propose to adopt the new rules. The PARD Director will file a notice of rule adoption with the City Clerk. Once the new Rules have been adopted, a ninety day notification period will begin prior to enforcement.
