Austin Code Department Releases 2020 Annual Report 

AUSTIN, TX – (Español abajo) The Austin Code Department published its 2020 Annual Report. The report is available online in English and Spanish. 

This year, Austin Code provided uninterrupted services through a global pandemic. The report highlights the work of code inspectors as they responded to COVID-19 calls.

Our work in the community did not falter. We stayed connected to our stakeholders and community.

"Our partnerships with City leadership and other City departments, such as Austin Fire, Austin Public Health, Development Services and the Austin Police department have formed bonds beyond what we could have imagined. Together, we faced the shared challenge of prioritizing a new level of safety in our community" said newly appointed Austin Code Department Director, José G. Roig. "We continue to move forward in our effort to educate our communities about ways to keep the structures that hold us safe, to do it equitably, and to do it together in partnership with you."

The online report illustrates Austin Code's role in the City. We educate, collaborate and work toward applying enforcement measures that provide better outcomes for all residents. 

Highlights of the 2020 Report include: 

  • Conducted 75,403 inspections
  • 3 in every 4 properties achieved voluntary compliance
  • 556 cases escalated to the quasi/judicial 
  • 19 properties were added to the Repeat Offender Program
  • Suspension and Revocation was initiated 
  • 5,086 licenses were issued
  • 2,615 short-term rental licenses were issued

AUSTIN, TX - El Departamento de Códigos de Austin publicó su Informe Anual 2020. El informe está disponible en línea en inglés y español.

Este año, Austin Code brindó servicios ininterrumpidos a través de una pandemia global. El informe destaca el trabajo de los inspectores de códigos al responder a las llamadas de COVID-19.

Nuestro trabajo en la comunidad no flaqueó. Nos mantuvimos conectados con nuestras partes interesadas y la comunidad.

"Nuestras asociaciones con el liderazgo de la ciudad y otros departamentos de la ciudad, como Austin Fire, Austin Public Health, Development Services y el departamento de policía de Austin han formado vínculos más allá de lo que podríamos haber imaginado.   • Realización de 75,403 inspecciones

  • 556 casos escalados a cuasi / judicial
  • Se agregaron 19 propiedades al Programa para delincuentes reincidentes
  • Se inició la suspensión y revocación
  • Se emitieron 5.086 licencias
  • Se emitieron 2.615 licencias de alquiler a corto plazo
