Homicide Investigation at 914 E Braker Lane

Deceased victim:  Benjamin Biesecker, White male, 2/26/1973

On Saturday, February 28, 2026, at approximately 8:10 a.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to the call of an unresponsive individual at a homeless encampment located at 914 E Braker Ln. When officers arrived, they located the victim, later identified as Benjamin Biesecker, who had multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Biesecker was pronounced deceased on scene at 8:21 am.

Homicide detectives and crime scene specialists responded to the scene. The investigation has shown that Mr. Biesecker was shot and killed by an unidentified suspect, who fled the area.

This case is being investigated as Austin's 11th homicide of 2026.
