Lifeguard Hiring

Austin Parks and Recreation’s Aquatic Division is now recruiting and training lifeguards starting at $22.05 per hour. Plus, get trained and work at least 40 hours before July 4, 2026, and you'll get a $200 stipend!

New and returning lifeguards must fill out job applications and complete hiring paperwork before they can register for training.

Step 1: Fill out online application for a lifeguard job.

Step 2: After completing your online application, visit the Aquatic Office in-person at 2818 San Gabriel St.

Bring a physical social security card, State of Texas issued identification, and any physical hiring paperwork you were emailed to complete following the submission of your application.
