On Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 4:18 a.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to the 13200 block of S. IH-35 SVRD SB for a collision between a motor vehicle and a commercial motor vehicle. One of the drivers, identified as Xochitl Garcia Ramos, was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver of the second vehicle remained on the scene, was not impaired, and is cooperating with the investigation.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 12th fatal crash of 2026, resulting in 12 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2025, five fatal crashes resulted in five deaths.
