Survey on Mechanical Noise Regulations

The Development Services Department is gathering feedback about the City’s current mechanical equipment noise regulations. These code requirements apply to noise from sources such as residential and commercial air conditioning, landscaping, or repair equipment. Under current regulations, mechanical noise cannot exceed 70 decibels at the property line when shared with another property or alleyway. 

If you have experiences or information to share, please take a moment before Dec. 20 to complete this brief survey. 

Results will be provided to the Austin City Council as part of an overall assessment of these regulations.
