The Austin-Lima Sister Cities Committee focuses on providing cultural and humanitarian exchange opportunities for citizens of both cities.

Lima, the capital of Peru, is its largest city. Lima is a center of finance and industry and is home to the Callao seaport. The Historic Center of Lima, which encompasses many of Lima’s historic monuments, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  • Austin Community College summer study abroad program in Lima focused on archeology, anthropology, and culture
  • Fiesta Patrias celebrations
  • Annual exhibition of Peruvian art
  • Donation of supplies to schools in Lima
