The City of Austin’s Small and Minority Business Resources Department (SMBR)  is requesting public comment on the proposed  Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program Plan (Part 26) for Fiscal Years 2016-2018.

The  DBE Program Proposal sets new goals for participation on federally-funded contracts on and around Austin Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA).

DBEs are socially and economically disadvantaged small business owners who work on federally-funded airport, highway and public transit contracting projects across Texas.

SMBR participates in the Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Enterprise/Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE/DBE) program as a local partner in the Texas Unified Certification Program under the U.S. Department of Transportation. As a member of this program, SMBR certifies business owners as ACDBEs/DBEs in Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis and Williamson counties.

SMBR will be hosting a workshop on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. at our office at 4201 Ed Bluestein Blvd.
