Some of the stormwater monitoring data collected is submitted as part of our department’s Texas Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit.  This program controls how the City of Austin discharges stormwater (non-point-source pollution) into our creeks and reservoirs.  Storm and base flow water quality samples are collected quarterly and data is reported to Texas Commission on Environmental Quality annually.

  • Look at our monitoring site viewer and see if we have gages and data for the area you are interested in.  There is usually a report linked to each of these sites that will provide a lot of information about this data (results, analysis, etc.).
  • If you want to get detailed background (complete, non-analyzed) data for a particular site, or series of sites, please contact Rich Robinson by email or (512) 974-2394.  Please allow up to 2 weeks for delivery.

Watershed Protection Department staff conduct routine water quality testing during baseflow conditions in Austin’s creeks and lakes, in addition to stormwater monitoring.
