A Word of Thanks

On Friday, May 19, 2017, my kids and I were on our way to watch my eldest son graduate from the University of Texas @ Austin. While turning onto exit 235, our vehicle suddenly stalled. We were in the process of calling a tow truck when Sergeant Mike Cowden pulled up behind us. He offered his assistance once we told him what the situation was and took immediate action. He called another officer who would push our vehicle out of the way to allow the tow truck to retrieve the vehicle and tow it back to our apartment complex. As the Mother, I was going to stay with the vehicle but Sergeant Cowden had a better idea. He elected to stay with our vehicle so I wouldn't miss my son graduating from college. He even arranged for Officer Ashley Uribe to take us to the campus so we could be there on time.
What I want to say is that these two individuals went above and beyond their call of duty to help when I know there were many other important things they could have helped with. But they both took the time and patience to help out a family and I am forever grateful. I live on the other side of the world and flew here to witness my son's next step in his life and almost missed it. I don't think there is an amount of "THANK YOU" I can send to show how much I appreciate the kindness that was shown.

Very respectfully,

BJ
