Help at the Insect-ion of Mopac and 360

I would like to commend Corporal Molina of the APD. He was the bike patrol officer that helped me on the bike/hike path on the east side of South Mopac (near the 360 intersection).

On October 25th I was commuting home on my bike after work. I was going downhill at a pretty good clip when (believe it or not) a flying insect caused me to lose control. I went down hard on the pavement, breaking both of my arms. I ended up on my back, but because I was wearing a backpack and because my arms were broken, I was unable to get up. I was able to get to my phone and call my wife. I was then trying to figure out how I was going to get my backpack off and get up when (in less than two minutes) Corporal Molina pulled up on his bike. That was the luckiest thing that happened to me that day. Officer Molina helped me get up and offered to call for an ambulance. I declined since I knew my wife would be there soon. Then he walked me and my bike back down the trail to the nearest cross street where I told my wife she could find me. Corporal Molina waited patiently with me until my wife arrived. He also helped her load my bike into our SUV. I had surgery the next day and went home the day after that. During my recovery I've been mindful of how lucky I was to have Corporal Molina's help. Because of his courtesy, kindness and timely assistance, I strong commend Corporal Molina. And I hope that he and his family have a wonderful holiday season.
