And the winner of the Green Cup is...
This fall, several of our Austin Green Business Leaders formed teams and got ready to compete in our first ever Green Cup Challenge. Teams used the Rethink/ mobile app to see which team was the greenest. This friendly and fun competition promoted sustainable behavior by rewarding points to the teams who “Buzzed” in the app when they did a sustainable action (such as taking a reusable mug, eating local food, joining in Meatless Mondays, etc.).
The winning team earned the cherished Green Cup and significant bragging rights! The competition ended on October 2nd.
The winner is….team “Less is Moore”- AKA Walter P. Moore; an engineering firm in downtown Austin.
Congratulations team; you helped Make Austin Greener by taking action and being sustainable! Some of the actions that Less is Moore took to win the Cup; taking reusable mugs to the office, using public transportation or biking, and saving energy around the office by turning off the lights, recycling paper or printing less!
The Less is Moore team is:
- Ruben Martinez
- Jenny McCormack
- Kileigh Shea
- Anna Hernandez
- Traci Babetski
- Dirk Kestner
- Kaitlin Forke
- Evan Reschreiter
- Kate Tomlinson
- Adam Johnson
- Kelly Skoviera
- Patricia Salomon
- Kyle Dunning
Thank you to ALL of the teams who participated and we can’t wait to do this again next year!
The team will get to pass the cup around the office for the next few months. Go Team!
